Traraglon has an historical society for those interested in the past. They have this site about the history of Traralgon. There is information for those wanting to trace their family histories and lots of other resources.
I have an embarrassing memory of the year 2000, working in the city and my boss at the time asked me who Sir Frank Macfarlane Burnet was. I had no idea. He sent me on a big internet search to discover who he was. At that time he was listed as one of the top 100 people of the century, internationally! I had grown up in Traralgon and never heard of him.
